Keeping a family home clean can sometimes feel like a losing battle. Young kids, pets, and the general tramping-in of dirt from outdoor exploring can all make the germs build up surprisingly quickly. While I’m not fanatical about living in a sterile home, I do think it’s important to keep areas like sinks, bathrooms and work surfaces hygienically clean.
I’ve tended to use pretty basic disinfectants in the past, and have put up with the less-than-pleasant smell they leave behind. Having recently discovered the Zoflora range of disinfectant, I’ve been trying out their new ‘Green Valley’ fragrance, to see how it performs around our busy family home.
Zoflora concentrated disinfectant can be used all over the home and kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, helping to protect the family and pets from germs. The range features 16 fragrances, each inspired by nature and developed by expert perfumers. Zoflora contains much higher levels of perfume than other household products too; so while it’s doing a great job of killing germs, it’s also eliminating odours and leaving your home fragrantly fresh.
Last month Zoflora sponsored a show garden at Hampton Court Flower Show. Zoflora are very proud of their Yorkshire heritage (the product is manufactured in Huddersfield), and their ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ garden celebrated Yorkshire’s beautiful landscape.
To coincide with their Hampton Court show garden, Zoflora have launched the new limited edition fragrance ‘Green Valley’, which is also inspired by the Yorkshire countryside.
So what does Green Valley smell like? Well I wish I could make this blog post scratch-and-sniff, because it smells gorgeous! Green Valley has been blended to include elements of crisp green leaves, clean ozonic notes and wildflowers. The fragrance is fresh and floral, very clean, and not at all like a disinfectant.
Zoflora is suitable for use all around the home. Diluted, you can use it to clean floors, sinks, baths, worktops, bins, cupboard doors and handles. It’s brilliant for the nursery too; use it on potties, changing mats and to freshen up mattresses.
Zoflora can also be used neat in drains, plugholes and toilets, to disinfect and combat odours. I like to pop a capful down the kitchen sink in the morning; when we get home at the end of the day the whole house smells fresh and clean.
I’ve also picked up a new cleaning tip from the ‘Where to use’ section of Zoflora’s website; you can add a capful to your washing machine drum and run it empty on a hot cycle to get rid of damp smells. Great idea!
Zoflora Green Valley retails at £1.45 and is available in Sainsburys, Morrisons, Tesco and Asda. You can find more details on the Zoflora range here. Which areas of your home would benefit from the Zoflora treatment?
