4 DIY projects you can make with clipart that kids will love

DIY craft projects are a fun way of developing your creativity and patience, and this is especially true for kids. DIY, which means “Do It Yourself,” is a way of building something yourself out of raw materials simply by following written or audio instructions, without the help of an expert – so it’s a great way for kids to develop their skills.

There are many DIYs you can do with your kids, and using clipart is one way of making a craft project lots of fun. You can download clipart google slides themes to make online DIY images, and you can also download design bundles, so you and your little one can choose from hundreds of designs to make something really special.

There are clipart books for book lovers, clipart sketches for sketchers, watercolour sets for painters, animal clipart for animal lovers, and so on. Here are four ideas for cool kids clip art projects to get you started.

Creative Book Clipart

Creating a book collage out of clipart is a great way to encourage kids’ creativity while doing something fun. To make this project even more versatile, you can go online to buy design bundles to create a books clipart black and white collection, or even a picture book with a slideshow. You can also design birthday invitations or even brochures and banners with different textures and colours.

If your child is an animal lover, there lots of clipart designs with animals as character illustrations to choose from. You can also find a watercolour clip art set for kids who love to paint, and sketch engravings clip arts for doodling fans. Even though kids tend to have a short attention span, these designs will help them to stay immersed in the project for hours without getting bored.

Magnetic Clipart

If you’d like to make clipart DIYs even more fun, just add magnets. With magnets, they can attach their finished designs to their doors, the fridge, their lunch baskets, and many more surfaces. Being able to see their designs around the home has the added bonus of inspiring them to think up even more ideas for creative projects.

All you need for this craft idea for kids is to first make a series of clipart images, using any suitable phone or computer program. Once you’ve chosen your images with your child, you can resize them to suit the surface you’re aiming to decorate. After cutting your image out, simply attach a magnetic strip to the back, and you’ve created your unique magnetic clipart.

Animal Clipart

This art project involves downloading animal clipart templates, and cutting them out in whatever shape and style you like. After cutting them out, encourage kids to think up fun and creative ways to bring their clipart to life.

For example, you can do some junk modelling to recreate beautiful insects such as butterflies, caterpillars and ladybirds, or create a garden wildlife scene with some cute creatures. These ideas are perfect for using basic craft materials and the contents of your recycling bin to create fun 3D artwork. Cardboard boxes, drinks cartons, and toilet paper tubes are particularly great materials; add in some glue, colouring pencils or paints and you’re good to go.

Poster Clipart

This is a nice way to make craft clipart educational for kids. For example, you can work on a history or community project, or help kids learn about healthy habits such as the importance of washing their hands regularly.

To get started on your poster project, download templates of related clipart online. Once you’ve made your selection, you can resize and print out your images to create a collage, or design your poster on a computer before printing. You can also use clipart to create puppets or dolls for teaching, this is a great way to make learning more fun and interactive.

DIY projects with your kids are a lovely way to spend time together while exploring your artistic and imaginative skills. Introducing clipart into these DIYs is a simple addition that can make a craft session even more engaging. Hopefully the ideas we’ve covered here have inspired you to explore clipart with the kids for your next craft project. Have fun!
