Do you grow your own fruit and veg? We started our grow-your-own journey a few years ago, and it has made such a difference to the amount of fresh produce we eat on a regular basis. We’ve found home-grown to be fresher, tastier and a really convenient way to manage a healthy diet.
I’ve recently come across this great infographic from Premier Polytunnels, which has loads of ideas for getting more fruit and veg into your diet. There are some really interesting facts too – did you know peppers are technically a fruit?!
In our climate, having a polytunnel or greenhouse hugely increases the variety of fruit and veg you can grow, as well as allowing you to harvest your home-grown crops pretty much all year round. Polytunnels come in all shapes and sizes, with the Premier Polytunnel range starting at just six feet wide.
If you’re thinking about growing our own, but aren’t sure where to start, check out this handy year planner which will help you work out when to sow, plant, and harvest your crops.
What do you think – will you be giving any of the recipes a try? If you grow your own, I’d love to hear what tasty dishes you create with your produce!
