Happy New Year!
We spent the last days of 2014 under a blanket of snow which was wonderful on many levels. Everything looked obligingly festive whilst also giving the feeling of a clean slate for the New Year, we were all suddenly desperate to get outside and burn off some energy which made for fab family time and rosy cheeks aplenty, and the light was just incredible, like a shot in the arm during these dark days.
Inevitably I started twitching to get outside with the camera….. which is how I found myself in the garden in pyjamas and coat at sunrise to catch the frost in all it’s glory.
My enthusiasm must have been catching because it wasn’t long before Chris was out there too in his personal take on Winter attire – t-shirt, pyjama bottoms and flip-flops. Morning neighbours!
So here is how our garden was not so much growing but sparkling this week.
As I write this all the snow has disappeared and I’m reminded just why we get so excited about this particular variety of weather. It’s the fact that it is often so fleeting whilst being so effortlessly magical; it’s a special treat that we can never count on. That and the fact that you’re never too old to build a snowman.
Joining in as always with Annie’s #HDYGG series at Mammasaurus.
We came back to snow after being away for Christmas. It was a bit of a shock to the system!
Yes we get snow so infrequently it always takes us by surprise too!
Oh I have been dreaming of snow, alas it hasn’t happened here. Lovely photos you have taken, especially the one where it looks as though someone has take na sparkly white marker and outlined your leaves!
I’m still holding out for snow here! Happy New Year ot you and thank you for joining in again x
Thanks, I love how frost and snow make you take notice of completely different aspects of plants and objects. Hope you get a flurry soon!
