Hasp & Staple
Good shed security starts at the door, and a Hasp & Staple is a great way to make getting into your shed without a key as tricky as possible. The screws are concealed, making it hard for thieves to remove, and its made from tough hardened steel.
Double Loop Security Cable 2.1 metre length
The double loop security cable is designed to be used with a U-lock, D-lock or padlock. It’s made from braided steel with a vinyl coating, and is perfect for securing things like bikes, gas barbecues, tools and outdoor furniture. You can also easily pop it in your bag and use it to secure bikes when you’re out and about.
Padlock x 2
These can be used with the Hasp & Staple, and the security cable. The metal is hardened and chrome-plated with a high tensile strength, making it difficult to cut off. The interior is rustproof too, so they’re ideal for outdoor use.
Ground Anchor
The ground anchor is a great way to add an extra layer of security to items that are secured with cables or chains. It’s made from 6mm hardened steel plate and has tamper resistant bolt heads, and you can mount it on a floor or wall. We’ve used it to secure our bikes in the shed, but it would also be ideal for those other high-value items I mentioned earlier.
SafeCan Rock
If you need to leave a spare key out, this is a clever little hiding place. It looks like any other rock, but there’s a compartment in the base where you can stash a key. It’s water-resistant, so you can hide it in a rockery or even bury it in the garden.
When it comes to protecting items stored in your shed, garage or garden, the aim is to make it as difficult as possible for thieves. The ground anchor sounds a good idea. There are several things in the garden (and sheds!) that could do with being secured against “midnight visitors”
