Win a Plantsmith Houseplant Care Kit

May 25, 2021 by Catherine 63 Comments

Could your houseplants benefit from some pampering? If the answer is yes, this is a great giveaway for you 🙂

I’m partnering with the team at Plantsmith to bring you a lovely prize that’s perfect for perking up your houseplants in style. I’ve got five Plantsmith Houseplant Care System sets to give away to five lucky indoor gardeners.

indoor plants

Why do you need specific products to take care of houseplants?

Plants grown indoors are not growing in their natural environment. This means they are much more reliant on us to provide the right nutrients, light, water and location so that they can thrive. Indoor plants can’t spread out to find nutrients in the soil like a plant growing in the garden would, and of course it doesn’t rain indoors! That absence of rain also means dust buildup stays put unless you do something about it.

All of this makes it a very good idea to use plant care products that are specifically designed for indoor plants. Doing so will provide your plants with exactly what they need, and also make it quicker and easier to take care of them. These two factors are what the Plantsmith range is all about.

Plantsmith Complete Houseplant Care System

The Plantsmith range

The Plantsmith range has been professionally developed by plant experts, Nick and Richard Jackson. The father and son team has over 40 years of horticultural experience – you might recognise Richard from QVC or his online garden shop – so you can be certain they know what plants need in order to thrive. The range covers houseplant food, mist and leaf shine, plus two products designed specifically for orchid care.

Plantsmith products combine professional formulations with easy application, to provide everything houseplants need to grow strong and healthy. This takes a lot of the guesswork out of indoor plant care, making it easier for you to keep your leafy friends happy.

As well as delivering on performance, Plantsmith products also look seriously good. The glass bottles are sleek and stylish, with rich colours and a modern design. I love the fact that they can be part of your houseplant styling, and not just functional bottles that you want to keep out of sight.

You can find out more about Plantsmith on their website, or check them out on facebook and instagram.

Let’s take a look at the products in the prize sets in more detail.

Plantsmith Complete Houseplant Care System

Plantsmith Fortifying Houseplant Tonic

This is a complete houseplant food inspired by the formulations used by professionals. 13 essential nutrients are perfectly balanced, to stimulate cell growth and encourage stronger, glossier leaves and more beautiful, longer-lasting flowers. Fortifying Houseplant Tonic is suitable for all houseplants and succulents. To use it, you simply mix 4 pumps per litre of water and apply to the base of the plant.

Plantsmith Perfecting Houseplant Care Mist

Lots of popular houseplants originate in tropical climates, which means they enjoy humid conditions. Using a plant spray mist helps to recreate this environment, while also countering the drying effects of central heating, which can cause leaves to wilt and flower buds to drop.

Perfecting Houseplant Care Mist contains 17 expertly combined natural ingredients. The spray nozzle delivers a soft mist and creates ideal humidity, whilst also aiding growth, deterring pests and boosting plant health for improved growth and resilience.

indoor plants on desk

I’ve been using the Houseplant Tonic and Care Mist on my houseplants; they really do make indoor plant care quick and easy, and my plants were looking healthier after just a few days. I absolutely love the bottle design, they’re a real pleasure to use – and the generous 500ml size will last for ages too.

Each product in the Plantsmith range costs £14.99 and is available to buy online. Whether you’re new to the world of houseplants or a seasoned pro, this specialist range will help you to get the most from your plants while adding a touch of luxury to your plant care routine.

Which indoor plants would you treat to some Plantsmith pampering?

I have a variety of houseplants, some of which I don’t know the name of.

We have a large spider plant, hanging down in the hall. Also, a small plant in there, unsure what it’s called. We also have a large Dracaena, with the most gorgeous leaves, some coloured red. I’ve just bought a small Philodendron, with stripy leaves, and we have a big established Money plant. All these indoor plants would benefit hugely with the Plantsmith Care system. It sounds amazing!

I have two spider plants that are over 15 years old as that’s how long I’ve had them after I took them home with me from the toilets at a job I had that long ago as no one looked after them and they were pretty dead until I nursed them.
