Win a bundle of stunning Poinsettia plants for your Christmas home

November 6, 2020 by Catherine 106 Comments

This is a collaborative post in partnership with Stars for Europe.

Welcome to a new giveaway – if you’re already thinking about decorating your home for Christmas, this is definitely one for you!

I’ve got four bundles of poinsettia plants in a variety of colours from Stars for Europe to give away. These lovely prizes will be perfect for bringing the outdoors inside, and giving your home a real festive feel in the run-up to Christmas.

Read on to find out more about poinsettias and how to enter the giveaway.

Poinsettia plants from Stars for Europe

Stars for Europe are the leading group of European poinsettia growers, so they have a real expertise in all things related to this popular Christmas plant.

pink poinsettia plants and christmas tree

As well as co-ordinating the production of beautiful plants, the Stars for Europe website also has a great resource section which includes plant selection and care tips, plus some wonderful inspiration on how to use poinsettias in your Christmas decor. I’ve been browsing the site and it’s well worth a look – here’s a few of my favourite tips and facts.

  • When choosing a poinsettia, look for undamaged leaves and lots of flower buds at the centre of the plant.
  • Poinsettias thrive in warm, bright conditions, and need to be protected from draughts and cold temperatures to avoid loss of leaves
  • Poinsettias are available in all sizes, from a few centimetres tall to typical houseplant size, bushy shrubs, and even small trees.
  • As well as the traditional potted plant, poinsettias can be used in table centrepieces, wreaths, miniature landscapes and even advent calendars.
  • December 12th is Poinsettia Day in the US, when people traditionally gift poinsettias to friends and family. Any excuse to buy a plant is fine by me!

A rainbow of poinsettia

We tend to think of poinsettia plants as being bright red, don’t we? But actually they’re also available in lots of other colours, including white, pink, yellow and cream. This means there’s bound to be the perfect poinsettia to suit your Christmas colour scheme, and you don’t have to stick to traditional red.

Hopefully the gorgeous Stars for Europe images I’ve included in this post will give you some festive styling inspiration. Please note that these images are for illustrative purposes, and are not a representation of the prize bundles.

Each prize bundle is worth £25 and will include a selection of poinsettia plants in a variety of colours. How would you use them to decorate your home this Christmas?
