Review & giveaway: win a stylish Elho Veggie Wall & Tomato Pot

May 22, 2020 by Catherine 190 Comments

This is a collaborative post in partnership with Elho.

If you’re having a go a growing your own veggies this year, this is a fantastic giveaway for you!

I’m reviewing the stylish Green Basics Veggie Wall and Tomato Pot from Elho, and I’ve got one of each to give away to a lucky winner.

elho green basics range

Elho Green Basics range

Elho makes high quality plant pots for indoor and outdoor use. All products are sustainably manufactured in the Netherlands; recycled plastic makes up 70% of the raw materials used, and all products are 100% recyclable. The Green Basics range includes planters, trays and accessories, all developed with the input of plant experts to ensure they really work. And these aren’t your typical less-than-attractive functional products: they look really smart and stylish too.

I’ve been using the Elho Grow Table and Moveable Garden for a couple of years now, and have found them to be robust and sturdy, while also being lightweight and easy to move around. They also still look just as good as the day they arrived. You can read more about these products in this post.

elho green basics veggie wall and tomato pot

The Elho Veggie wall and Tomato Pot are the newest additions to my grow your own kit, and I’ve been trying them out in the garden this month. Let’s take a look at each product in more detail.

elho green basics veggie wall

Elho Green Basics Veggie Wall

The Veggie Wall retails at around £59.99, and is an all-in-one solution that’s perfect for growing tomatoes, fruits, vegetables and even flowers that could use some help with vertical growth. You can check it out on the Elho website here.

The large pot measures approx. 77cm wide and 31cm deep, and comes with a 125cm high netted trellis which supports taller plants. There’s also a 10 litre water reservoir in the base.

It’s very quick and easy to assemble, with clear instructions.

filling garden container with compost

There are lots of practical features in this product. The trellis is anchored securely within the base so you won’t have problems with it wobbling around, the water reservoir in the base has an access hole at the front, and the net is attached using clever clips that feel really secure. I also love the fact that the net doesn’t cover the sides of the trellis, this makes it easy to water evenly and get your hands in to deal with your plants.

elho veggie wall planter

I’ve planted mangetout in my Veggie Wall. I always struggle to support these climbing plants properly, but the netted frame has made this really easy. I didn’t even need to use any string to secure the plants.

As you can see, there’s plenty of room for the plants to grow.

elho green basics tomato pot

Elho Green Basics Tomato Pot

The Elho Tomato Pot retails at around £25.99, and also features built-in support to help plants grow tall and straight. It measures approx. 33cm in diameter, which is a nice generous size for a single tomato plant. Again, there’s a water reservoir in the base – tomatoes are thirsty plants, so this feature will definitely help you to keep your plant happy with less effort.

Like the Veggie Wall, the Tomato Pot is quick and easy to put together.

The plant support is in three sections, so you don’t have to use them all if your plant isn’t tall enough yet. You can simply add a section in as the plant grows.

Here’s my tomato plant looking happy in it’s new home!

I really love the fact that Elho products look so smart and stylish, even when they’re serving a practical purpose. This makes it so easy to grow your own on a patio, or in an otherwise ornamental area of the garden. If you thought veggie gardening wasn’t pretty, think again!

I have a little competition for my grandsons to see who gets the most tomatoes from their plant, funny that somehow they both get the same and I hardy get any, bless them they don’t realise I top them both up from my plant as they are so happy, it’s not that easy to get them to eat many yet.

I already have 6 of the elho raised veggie planters with propagation lids and I LOVE them. I’m newly diagnosed with chronic pain Syndrome so the fact I don’t have to bend to do my veggies is great. They are my lifeline to getting my veggies done.
I’d love the veggie wall to add to my collection as I wouldn’t need to keep bending to tie in the peas. They would just grow up the nifty support and I can sit the pot on one of my tables to bring it even closer to me. This would be wonderful.
