Autumn is a great time for getting outdoors with the kids; the weather isn’t really cold yet, nature is changing before our eyes and there are so many things to collect – leaves, seeds and sticks to name a few. While we’re not into full-on welly weather yet, the ground is often damp and slippy and for kids a good pair of walking shoes is a great option for this time of year. We’ve been testing out the kids Mountain Peak outbound walking boots from Brantano this month, putting them through their paces on conker hunts, leaf jumping and woodland walks.
The mountain peak walking boots are sturdy without being too heavy; in the past we’ve had outdoor shoes for the kids that they found far too chunky and heavy to walk in, not so with these. They have elasticated laces that you don’t have to actually lace up, and velcro fasteners. Even our 4 year old could easily put them on herself without any help, a big advantage in my view.
We decided to really put the boots through their paces on a trip to our local country park. Here’s a taste of what they went through!
The boots performed brilliantly on all surfaces, they gave really good grip and we had no slips or skids. Both kids found them really comfortable and happily wore them for long periods of time without any complaints. Obviously the boots got pretty dirty, but once dry the mud brushed off easily. We didn’t encounter any really deep puddles, but we did do some stomping along wet paths and both kids had dry feet when we’d finished – which is more than can be said for their dad!
We’re really impressed with the mountain peak walking boots, they’re good quality, comfortable and hardwearing. At the time of writing they’re in the sale too at £14-15 (depending on size), which makes them an absolute bargain. Visit the Brantano website for more details on the boys boots and girls boots.
I was sent the mountain peak boots as a review gift, all opinions and comments are honest and genuine.
