This is a collaborative post in partnership with DutchGrown
How is your spring garden looking right now? With the colder weather we’ve been having, a lot of my plants are only just getting going, but my spring bulbs are looking absolutely wonderful.
Last autumn, DutchGrown sent me a selection of their spring flowering bulbs to review. I planted them in October, and have been so impatient to see them flower ever since!
Flower bulbs from DutchGrown
DutchGrown is a family-run business with four generations of experience in growing flower bulbs. Their bulbs are top-size and the highest quality, and are shipped across the UK and EU from the family farm in Holland.
DutchGrown also exhibit their bulbs in the famous Keukenhof park. This is the most famous and largest flower park in the world, and exhibiting here is testament to the quality and experience behind DutchGrown bulbs. A visit to Keukenhof has been on my bucket list for a long time now; if you’re a fan of all things floral it really is worth checking out.
There’s a huge range of flower bulbs available on the DutchGrown website. This includes bulbs to plant in spring and autumn, bulb collections, and an elite range of unusual, newly introduced or rare flower bulbs that will really appeal to bulb enthusiasts and collectors. There’s also lots of helpful advice and information on planting and growing bulbs to help you get the most out of your flowers.
Planting my DutchGrown spring bulbs
My bulbs arrived carefully packed, and stored in paper bags. The bulbs themselves were all firm and healthy.
I planted my DutchGrown bulbs in pots and in my garden beds. I went for a combination of mixed displays for a riot of colour, and single variety planting for a more simple look. The fact that it’s so easy to create a unique display is of course one of the great things about growing bulbs.
Here are some pictures of my DutchGrown bulbs in full flower – enjoy!
I’m absolutely blown away by the quality of my DutchGrown bulbs. Each variety has been a showstopper, flowering for weeks with perfect blooms. I’ve grown bulbs for spring in the garden before, but I can honestly say they were nowhere near the standard of the DutchGrown bulbs, and I’ve never been able to grow such a stunning display.
My DutchGrown bulbs have made my spring garden so colourful, and really boosted the amount of flowers in bloom at this time of year. Growing a variety of bulbs has also allowed me to extend the flowering season for much longer, creating a beautiful display right through spring. And bulbs flower year after year too, so we’re going to be able to enjoy them all over again next spring 🙂
